data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPadovaO2 is a project undertaken by the Municipality of Padua \u2013 Green, Parks and Urban Agriculture Department with Etifor, a spin-off of the University of Padua engaged in research and development of sustainable projects capable of restoring the balance between humans and natural systems. Urban reforestation in Padua is an urgent need.<br><br>Making the city more liveable, safe and resilient and protecting the health of its citizens are priority objectives for the Municipality of Padua.<br><br>For this reason, Padua has accepted a new challenge to bring greenery and biodiversity back to the city: improving air quality and people&#8217;s quality of life by growing 10,000 new trees, in collaboration with citizens, businesses and associations. To do this, it has created the PadovaO2 project, making new green areas available \u2013 covering a total area equivalent to 12 football pitches \u2013 for future forests. With the launch of wownature.eu, citizens, associations and businesses can choose the species to be planted and the area of the city in which to build new forests, \u201cadopting\u201d the tree and following the progress of the work.<br><br>All the trees chosen are native species typical of the lowland forests of the Po Valley. Furthermore, among those selected, we preferred trees that best absorb and break down pollutants. Not only that, but the selection was made to promote increased biodiversity: in some areas in particular, we sought to create an environment favourable to bees and, consequently, to honey production by local beekeepers.<br><br>&#8216;In order to restart and regenerate, at a time when environmental problems are growing exponentially,&#8217; explains Lucio Brotto, co-founder of Etifor, &#8216;we need to choose effective solutions. Our work as a spin-off of the University of Padua consists of finding concrete and scientific answers to enhance natural resources. PadovaO2 moves precisely along these lines: it restores greenery and biodiversity to citizens, who can actively participate in the project by growing or donating a
