The forests we created and improved

Bosco Belvedere

Italy
Torre di Mosto (VE)

Belvedere Forest is almost 20 years old. You can venture among its silent oaks and hornbeams for a nice relaxing walk.

Bosco Belvedere is a green area with a dense tree cover that extends for about 18 hectares. It was created in 1998 with the aim of reducing space devoted to agriculture and encouraging reforestation, improving silviculture, limiting the greenhouse effect by absorbing carbon dioxide, and developing forestry activities on farms. The Forest was created, as part of a reforestation project using EU agricultural funds, by the “Il Bozzolo Verde” cooperative in collaboration with Veneto Agricoltura, which supplied the tree specimens to be planted.

Species capable of providing flowers and pollen useful for beekeeping were chosen and planted when creating the Belvedere Forest. The “mellifera” bees found here are located in an apiary composed of about twenty small houses, located within a protected clearing and exposed to the sun. In the spring and summer period, as all the plants bloom, nectar harvesting leads to the production of abundant honey.

This forest is part of Associazione Forestale di Pianura (Lowland Forest Association).
