Forestasy

feel good thanks to nature

Forestasy is wellness.
Forestasy is balance between people and nature.

Would you like to have a forestasy experience?

When was the last time you felt forestasy?

If you don’t know the answer, don’t worry: it’s absolutely normal!

The term “forestasy” is a neologism we coined to describe the positive sensation that we feel when we immerse ourselves in nature. It’s a positive feeling that is hard to describe, it’s something like a mix of serenity and happiness, of completeness and harmony, that we weren’t able to give a name to. Until today.

FORESTASY

A word to the scientists

Over the last few years, some researchers, in different countries of the world, have studied the link between wellness and nature, getting to rather interesting results that confirm what many of us have already experienced in first hand: when we are immersed in nature, we simply feel better.

It has been proved that a simple walk in nature provokes psychophysical relaxation: our brain activity and heart rate slow down, while blood pressure decreases (Song et al., 2016; Kobayashi et al., 2018). It has also been proved that some terpenes – organic compounds that can be found in some trees’ essential oils or resins – act on our immune and nervous systems, increasing the number and activity of some cells specialized in contrasting infections and tumours (Tsao et al., 2018).

Talking about the benefits of trees on humanity: Italy was the first country to certify all the full sets of benefits according to the international certification standard provided by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®).
