Responsible holidays
The landscape you love needs you: calculate the CO2 impact of your holiday and reduce it with your travel choices.
Your trip can grow a forest
The landscape that convinced you to go is not a backdrop: it is alive, and it needs care.
Whether it is the mountains, the lagoon or the countryside, with WOWnature you can adopt a tree in the area you are visiting, or elsewhere, and contribute to the regeneration of its forests, its coasts and its ecosystems.
The landscape you love depends on the health of its ecosystems
From the Dolomites to the Venice lagoon, every territory is deeply tied to the balance of the ecosystems that characterise it: forests hold the slopes, reduce the risk of landslides and protect mountain paths; salt marshes and reed beds defend the lagoon from erosion; forests help water infiltrate underground and provide shelter and food for wildlife. When an ecosystem is hit — by a storm, a pest, rising sea levels or years of careless management — the entire territory you are visiting suffers.
That is why WOWnature works in very different places — from the Dolomite forests to the Lio Piccolo lagoon, from lowland woods to the river areas of Veneto and Lombardy — with the same goal: more roots, more biodiversity, more resilience for the territory that hosts you.
How much does your holiday weigh?
Find out before you leave
Every trip has an impact: travel, accommodation, activities.
With our calculator you can find out how much your holiday weighs in terms of CO2, depending on where you go, how you travel and how many days you stay.
It is not a number to make you feel guilty: it is a way to understand where you can really cut down, for example by choosing the train instead of the car, even before thinking about how to contribute positively to the environment you visit.
How much does your holiday weigh?
Travel and accommodation have a CO2 impact. Find out before you leave: not to make you feel guilty, but to understand where you can really cut down.
Where you can really cut down
Reducing what you can is the first step. The second is to take concrete action in the area you visit: adopting a tree does not cancel out the calculation above, it is an extra gesture, concrete and positive, towards the environment and the landscape you love.

What happens after you adopt a tree
Reducing what you can is the first step.
The second is to take concrete action in the area you love: choose the tree and the project you want to support. From that moment you can follow the growth of your forest with periodic updates, and when the time comes for planting — in autumn or spring, respecting nature’s rhythms — you will receive an invitation to take part in person.
The experience continues after planting too: some projects offer walking paths among the grown trees, with information panels telling the story of the territory and the species that inhabit it.
Adopt your tree
Choose the project closest to the place you are visiting, adopt a tree and take part in its regeneration.
