Forests created or improved Treviso-Vicenza-Ostiglia Cycle Lane

Italia

Why did we support this forest?

A wonderful route that winds through the immense Po Valley, which was made even cooler thanks to the planting of trees along its track.

History of the forest

Some places should be experienced slowly because only then can you appreciate the small details, immerse yourself in their essence, and admire the mystery of the lives intertwined in the streets of the villages. Veneto is definitely one of those places, and biking along the new Treviso-Vicenza-Ostiglia green cycle route – a beautiful path that winds through the vast Po Valley – is undoubtedly one of the best ways to enjoy it.

Where is the forest located?

How we improved the forest

To further improve the cycle route, reforestation efforts have been planned to make it greener, cooler, and more welcoming, while also increasing environmental benefits for the area. Near Grisignano di Zocco, in Vicenza province, a new tree-lined section has been created along the cycle route, thanks to planting 2,000 native trees and shrubs. Another project involves the municipalities of Camposampiero, Santa Giustina in Colle, Piazzola sul Brenta, and Campodoro, along the cycle route, which is managed by the Federation of Municipalities of Camposampierese in Padua province. Here, about 2,500 native trees and shrubs will be planted, including ash, lime, holm oak, field maple, hornbeam, and others. This linear forest will bring tangible benefits, including reduced air pollution, CO₂ absorption, shade for cyclists, and biodiversity enrichment.
