Smalterie Vicentine helps forests with WOWnature

Smalterie Vicentine, founded in 1958 by Engineer Enrico Dall’Orto in Sarcedo (Vicenza), is one of the very few Italian companies capable of carrying out the entire process of applying porcelain enamel within its own facilities. By combining the strength of glass with the ductility of metal, the company offers highly resistant technical and protective coatings for key sectors such as cooktops, appliances, stoves, and chimney systems.

Since 1973, Smalterie Vicentine has used in-house wastewater treatment systems and has progressively eliminated lead and heavy metals from its production cycles, operating with next-generation systems free of chemical solvents. This commitment, already validated by SGS ISO 14064-1 certification for the quantification of greenhouse gas emissions, has now naturally evolved into the adoption of Etifor’s MARC framework, based on the mitigation hierarchy.

A fundamental pillar of this transition is the integration of the new photovoltaic panel system, designed to generate clean energy on-site and reduce the carbon footprint of thermal vitrification processes. The partnership with WOWnature reinforces the company’s long-term strategy: it supports forest conservation and biodiversity enhancement projects that capture and remove CO₂ from the atmosphere.
