Tree-kking

Biography

A friendship born in 2019, on the first day of the Camino de Santiago, has driven them to walk thousands of steps side by side, rediscovering abandoned lands and wonderful people. For Thimoty and Claudio, trekking and nature are not just two shared passions, but the pillars on which their latest challenge rests. In the summer of 2022, they wanted to embark on a trek in Portugal under the banner of environmental protection. Thus, the Tree-kking project was born. In 2023, they were joined by two new traveling companions, Andrea and Francesco. Together they are ready to set out for Vietnam and raise the bar.

In 2022, they walked 1,200km along the coast of Portugal and managed to plant 303 trees in Val di Fiemme together with their community.

For 2023, they set themselves an even more ambitious challenge: to better understand the problems of the climate crisis in the world and seek solutions. The 4 adventurers will explore Thailand, Laos, Cambodia. These countries alone are home to 1/5 of the world’s forest heritage. At the same time, Southeast Asia has been suffering from uncontrolled deforestation for more than 20 years due to intensive coffee and sugarcane crops produced for European markets. Follow them on their journey and support them with a donation. The total will be used to plant as many trees as possible in Vietnam’s Huong Son Forest and in the forests of the Ticino Valley to close the loop on the journey. For every tree planted in Asia, we will plant one in Italy.
