Associazione Amici di Michele

Amici di Michele is a small association born in February 2020, in memory of Michele, who died in a mountain accident. We are based in Monza and most of our members come from Lombardy. We are a group united by having known Michele. Some of us met him in the mountain, others in their travels, at work, and obviously, his family. We founded an association in his memory, because he was an outstanding person. He brang people together and passed on to them his enthusiasm for the mountains, good food, and the value of friendship. We are a newborn association, and these are our first steps in the non-profit world. Nevertheless, we are proud to say that doing good is good, and that every project we carry out generates enthusiasm and unexpected results.

During what would have been Michele’s birthday, we couldn’t celebrate in person due to the pandemic. So, we launched a fundraising to create a forest in his memory. With this initiative we were not only able to plant 170 trees in Val di Fiemme, but we also spread the message of the importance of preserving nature. Plus, gifting one tree, or more, to the people we love through great initiatives like WOWnature, is an act of love! We want to keep growing and implement our environmental initiatives, the spread of good food, and if we succeed, we will also deal with inclusivity and accessibility, especially in the mountains.
