For six decades, Butterfield & Robinson has been helping travellers to experience the world more deeply, moving through landscapes, not just past them. As natural habitats and cultural traditions face growing challenges, the team believes that those of us who love these places most have a responsibility to protect them. That commitment lives in the company’s Slow Fund, established to invest in the communities and ecosystems that make their journeys meaningful. Through it, B&R supports projects focused on conservation, biodiversity and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage that defines the destinations its travellers explore.

B&R’s partnership with WOWnature is one of its most cherished. Since 2021, the two organizations worked together to restore and protect Italy’s forests, beginning in the Dolomites, where B&R has been bringing travellers since the early 1990s, and expanding into the Veneto plains and Tuscany. In 2025, as B&R marks its 60th anniversary, the company is proud to have donated 600 trees across these projects—a small but meaningful symbol of a commitment that intends to grow. These are landscapes the company’s guides know intimately, that travellers return to year after year, and that the team is deeply committed to preserving for the generations that follow.
