Adopt a tree and protect Bosco Limite

Italia
• Carmignano di Brenta (PD)

Why support this forest?

In Carmignano di Brenta (PD), situated in the heart of Italy’s Po Valley, we transformed a former cornfield into an infiltration superforest with over 2,300 trees. Today, Bosco Limite improves air quality, replenishes groundwater, supports biodiversity, and hosts a forest kindergarten. Let’s keep growing this forest together.

Adopt your favorite trees or gift them: select the gift option during checkout and then personalize it in your reserved area.

Protect Bosco Limite

It's not enough to plant new trees; we must protect forests from abandonment, fires, illegal logging, biodiversity loss, wind, and disasters.

If you adopt a tree in this forest, you can plant it in person during WOW events.

You’ll receive an email with the details one month before the event (even if you’ve chosen the Protect this Forest option).

Participate with whoever you like and share your passion for nature! We respect nature’s rhythms, which is why we plant trees in spring and fall, taking environmental conditions into account. If you can’t attend, we’ll take care of planting your tree.

How we are improving the forest

Bosco Limite began in 2013 as a scientific reforestation project, where careful planning transformed 2.5 hectares of farmland into a multifunctional superforest, delivering numerous benefits to both people and the environment.

Bosco Limite functions as an infiltration forest: during heavy rains, water not used for irrigation is channelled through a network of canals stretching over 1 km among the trees. Here, water gradually seeps into the soil, recharging the groundwater aquifer. Tree roots and microorganisms naturally purify the water, enabling over 1 million cubic metres of water to be recovered each year.

This forest also provides habitat for more than 20 animal species—including hares, roe deer, birds, and pollinating insects—along with many edible wild plants, turning it into a biodiversity refuge amidst an agricultural landscape.

In recent years, extreme weather events such as droughts and windstorms have damaged parts of the vegetation. To address this, WOWnature is planting climate-resilient species such as English oaks, sessile oaks, and hornbeams, and conducting annual maintenance and canal cleaning.

Bosco Limite also functions as an educational space for children. It hosts “Raise,” a forest kindergarten where children grow amid nature. Trails, educational zones, and sensory pathways transform this forest into an outdoor classroom for families, schools, and nature enthusiasts.
