Forests created or improved Bosco Limite Lakes
Why did we support this forest?
Where once only corn and alfalfa grew, there will now be an infiltration basin, a multifunctional wetland and a new forest with 1,400 native trees and shrubs.
Take part in the planting event with trees adopted by Sanpellegrino. Choose the tree you want to plant – it’s a gift.
History of the forest
The area where the project is located was once used for growing corn and alfalfa. Since 2025, it has been undergoing a profound transformation. Thanks to Sanpellegrino S.p.A. and in collaboration with the Consorzio di Bonifica del Brenta, the Municipality of Carmignano di Brenta and with the scientific support of ETIFOR, a new green lung is being created as part of the expansion of Bosco Limite. The aim is to give the area a vital and resilient ecosystem, capable of regenerating soil and water, hosting biodiversity and welcoming people into a regenerated environment.
Where is the forest located?
How we improved the forest
A complex natural system integrating various ecological functions grows on a 2.5-hectare site. First and foremost, there is an infiltration basin that allows the aquifer to be recharged with up to 100 litres per second, recovering up to 758,000 m³ of water per year. There is also a multifunctional wetland area that is home to fauna and vegetation typical of rivers, which also serves as an emergency water reserve. Here, 1,400 native trees and shrubs grow, organised into rows, hedges and flower meadows that attract pollinators and stabilise the soil. Paths, rest areas and educational trails make the site accessible and educational, enriched by artificial hills that offer panoramic views of the landscape and host continuous monitoring of water quality and ecological functionality.
