Bosco del Quarelo (Quarelo Forest), accessible from Viale Sant’Agostino along Via Ponte del Quarelo, is a peri-urban forest and a true oasis where you can go for a walk or a run. You can park your car or bicycle in the lighted parking space, which is equipped with racks, wooden benches and an information board showing a site map and the tree species that are found in the area.
You can wander along the beaten paths that skirt the forest and reach a small pond, offering nature lovers the possibility to walk or jog along a 2-km long circuit just outside the city. The main objective of the Bosco del Quarelo project is to enhance both environmental and land quality by promoting the planting of forests consisting only of typical native species, thus recreating those habitats that have shaped the Veneto plain for centuries. The forest also provides recreational and leisure areas, contributes to hydraulic safety, purifies water, mitigates pollution through carbon dioxide reduction, and increases biodiversity.
This forest is part of Associazione Forestale di Pianura (Lowland Forest Association).
