Quarelo Forest

The Quarelo Forest, which can be reached from Viale Sant’Agostino along Via Ponte del Quarelo, is a perturbing wood and looks like a real oasis where you can walk or run, leaving your car or bicycle in the illuminated parking lot equipped with racks, wooden benches and an educational table with the map of the place and the tree species present. You can go on the beaten track that runs along the forest and reach a small lake, offering lovers of walking, jogging and more generally of nature a circuit a couple of kilometers away from the city.

The main objective of the project of the Quarelo Forest is to increase the environmental and territorial quality, promoting the planting of forests formed only by typical native species, reconstituting those areas that for centuries have characterized the Venetian plain. Moreover, providing natural areas for recreation and leisure, contributing to hydraulic safety, purifying water as filter systems, mitigating pollution through the reduction of carbon dioxide, increasing biodiversity.

This forest is part of the Lowland Forestry Association.

Certification

FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability.
