Forests created or improved Triestina Forest
Why did we support this forest?
Bosco Triestina is one of the young forests created by WOWnature, a reforestation project that transformed a barren area into a thriving ecosystem.
History of the forest
Established in 2018 in San Stino di Livenza (VE), Bosco Triestina is one of the young forests created by WOWnature, a reforestation project that transformed a barren area into a thriving ecosystem. Thanks to the support of E.ON, the forest has quickly become a benchmark for local biodiversity and an important part of the effort to combat climate change. Covering 1.8 hectares—about three football fields—this forest demonstrates how, with vision and teamwork, nature can be restored even in heavily modified areas. This forest is part of the Pianura Forestry Association.

How we improved the forest
The Triestina Forest is home to over 2,000 trees from 14 native species, including field maple, ash, hornbeam, wild cherry, and many others. The variety of species was studied to create a diverse habitat capable of supporting a wide range of animals, insects, and birds. The plants that have been planted have grown over the years, helping to improve air quality, absorb CO₂, reduce fine particle pollution, and lessen the impact of heat waves. Today, Bosco Triestina is a vibrant, accessible, and welcoming space where nature takes centre stage once again.
