In the last few decades, Vietnam has lost major forest areas to logging, an increasingly urgent issue that must be solved. In the past 20 years alone, more than 1.5 million hectares of forests have been lost to unsustainable logging, agricultural expansion, and urban and infrastructure development. This tragic phenomenon is costing us more than expected. Losing forests equals to losing benefits generated every day: CO2 capture, biodiversity protection, water resource improvement, and employment opportunities for local communities. To reverse this trend, the Huong Son Forest Company engages in daily surveillance and monitoring, aimed at preventing illegal logging and poaching activities. It will also be useful to plan ecological enrichment, studies and research for the conservation of the forest and its biodiversity.
