Forests created or improved Zucka Skatepark
Why did we support this forest?
Maple and ash trees were planted at the edge of the skatepark, because they are key species capable of cleaning the air from PM10 and thus can mitigate the effects of pollution.
History of the forest
The Carmignano di Brenta skatepark was established thanks to the vision of the Zucka Skateboarding association, which has been working since 2005 to promote skateboarding as a sport and culture. Opened in 2022, the park spans approximately 800 m² and is one of the largest in the Veneto region. However, the idea extended beyond sport: alongside the ramps, an urban forestry initiative was also developed, aiming to improve air quality and make the area more liveable and sustainable.

How we improved the forest
In 2021, maple and ash trees were planted along the edge of the skatepark and near the Brenta River Park. Selected for their effectiveness in capturing PM10 and reducing pollution, these trees also contribute to creating a more welcoming environment. Ash trees, in particular, do not release seeds or leaves that could hinder sporting activities, thus combining functionality with respect for the space. This project demonstrates how sport and sustainability can work together.
