AMP was born in 1929, and since then it has been organizing the Pavia-Venice Raid, the longest motorboat event in inland waters worldwide. Since 2021, it has been joined by AMV, born in 1997. The Raid Pavia-Venice has experienced periods of glory in the past years, when the best pilots have challenged each other on the waters of Ticino and Po and in those of the Venetian lagoon with increasing speed, year after year, until it reached in 2015 the record still unbeaten 203.341 kmh recorded by Dino Zantelli. The Raid represents for motorboating what the Mille Miglia represents for motoring. Over the years, the Raid has faced increasing organizational difficulties, such as to suspend its organization from 2011 to 2020. In 2021, almost as a bet, AMP and AMV had the courage to resume the organization of the race, being rewarded by an unexpected response from pilots, not only Italian but also foreign. The race was held with the participation of 90 competitors, arriving at the Arsenal of Venice in the Lagoon, during the the closing event of the Venice Boat Show. Both companies are driven by the passion for boating and recreational boating, and share this passion with thousands of fans along the banks of the Po await the passage of boats, following a tradition that has been handed down between generations.

In 2022, the commitment has been rewarded even more, so much so that at the 70th edition of the race that took place on June 5th, 157 crews from 14 countries have registered, and the list of participants was exhausted in just 60 hours. Among the registered crews, there are some famous names of professional motorboating, both current and historical, many sons of champions who have honored the Raid in the past Guido Cappellini, Tullio Abbate, Christian Ghedina, Riccardo Ravizza, Ottavio Missoni, Giampaolo Montavoci, Giampaolo Focchi, Pietro Petrobelli. The passion for sport remains the organization core value, but also the attention towards the new technological solutions respectful of the environment is not less. AMP and AMV are very sensitive to the issues concerning the climate crisis, and the protection of ecosystems. I fact, for the first time in their history, in 2022 they included a boat powered by alternative fuel systems, with a low environmental impact. In addition, during the days of the Boat Show in Venice, some boats with electric motors were engaged in demonstration races.

These initiatives were born from the desire to improve the boating and pleasure boating sector, with the aim of decreasing the ecological footprint of the industry and all related events. From these premises, and from the awareness that we share the same values of respect and protection of the environment and forests, the collaboration with WOWnature was born: we decided to support the reforestation of San Colombano Forest, a new forest that is growing in the municipality of Sozzara. The area hosts vast riparian forests, poplar groves, arable land, spontaneous willow groves, sandy areas, wetlands in correspondence of old clay quarries. The reforestation project involves the planting of more than 250,000 trees belonging to the main native species of the area: white and black poplar, white willow, field elm, oak, ash, alder buckthorn, snowball tree, cherry dogwood, elderberry, and bloody dogwood. We believe that a historic sport event such as the Raid, which brings together the passion of thousands of people along the 413 km route, is a great moment for raising awareness and respect for nature, our territory, and the forests of our planet. Due to our passion for the river and the lagoon, besides being our home, are places that we respect, love, and want to protect.
