Update from Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path

Ciclovia Treviso Ostiglia

October 2026 – Updates from our forests

Along one of the sections of the Treviso–Ostiglia cycle path, in Grisignano di Zocco (VI), our project continues. It was created to plant tree-lined strips that offer shade and relief to cyclists during increasingly hot summers, as well as improving biodiversity in a heavily agricultural and man-made area.

A landscape that is regenerating itself

Five years ago, we planted around 2,000 trees along the cycle path. The aim is to create a green corridor: native trees that shade the path, mitigate the microclimate, and provide shelter for insects, birds, and other local species. Today, the plants are well established and continue to grow, adapting to the particular conditions of the soil, which consists largely of the bed of the historic railway line.

Monitoring and gradual growth

During our last visit, we checked the condition of the plants and observed their growth. In contexts such as this, with more complex substrates, development is slower but steady: every year, the planted trees become more robust and contribute to making the cycle path a more livable and biodiverse environment.
