Regional Forum for Sustainable Development

The Regional Forum for Sustainable Development, organised by the Lombardy Region, aims to involve civil society in the different phases of the Regional Sustainable Development Strategy, from the definition of objectives to implementation and final monitoring. To foster dialogue and networking among sustainability actors, the Lombardy Region has organised the fourth edition of the Forum, which takes place from 15 September to 26 October in Milan.

As of 2022, the Forum has decided to embark on a path of environmental responsibility to become Climate Positive, i.e. to measure and capture 110% of the CO2 emissions produced by the event, supporting BioClima forestry projects. The commitment continues in 2023 by contributing to the reforestation of Parco Oglio Sud.

The BioClima initiative, implemented by the Lombardy Region with the support of Fondazione Cariplo and created within the framework of the Lombardy Plan and the LIFE GESTIRE 2020 project, aims to create public-private financing models to catalyse investments in biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation projects in Lombardy’s forests and protected areas.
