Updates from Bosco della Panarotta
October 2025 – Updates from Bosco della Panarotta
We returned to Bosco della Panarotta, above Levico Terme, to monitor the condition of the plants planted in 2022, in an area where only spruce and larch trees used to grow. Today, this forest is changing: thanks to the introduction of about ten different species, such as birch, rowan and larch, we are increasing the biodiversity and resilience of the mountain forest.
During the monitoring, we sampled different areas to check how well the plants had taken root. The initial results are positive: many species are growing very well and some plants have already reached a height of two metres. This is a concrete response to the commitment to regenerate this ecosystem and prepare it for the impacts of climate change.
This work will continue in the coming months together with people and companies who believe in the rebirth of the territory. The forest is recovering, one step at a time.

September 2024 – Updates from Bosco della Panarotta
We are in Bosco della Panarotta, located above Levico Terme, in the heart of Trentino. Here, in recent years, hundreds of plants have been planted thanks to the support of companies and citizens who have chosen to contribute to the regeneration of this mountain area. The WOWnature team has returned to monitor the growth of the plants, measure their growth and check the health of this important reforestation project.
One of the most significant examples is the birch tree planted two years ago, which has shown exceptional growth: starting from a height of about 40 cm, it now exceeds one and a half metres. This result is tangible proof of how careful and well-planned intervention can have positive effects on ecosystem regeneration. In addition to birch trees, other native species have been planted along this slope, helping to create a diverse and resilient forest. Over the next few years, the WOWnature team will continue to monitor the area, with checks in the third, fifth and tenth years to ensure that the plants are growing healthily and vigorously.
An interesting aspect of the Panarotta Forest is the surrounding grass cover. At the end of the season, this vegetation remains tall but does not interfere with tree growth. On the contrary, it represents added value, promoting local biodiversity and providing shelter and nourishment for insects and small animal species.
