800 new trees for Quarto d’Altino
How Bosco Portegrandi came to be
The project got underway in Quarto d’Altino, where 800 trees and shrubs were planted to recreate the “querco-carpineto planiziale,” a native forest type that once dominated the Po Valley. The selected species include oaks, hornbeams, ashes and many others, chosen for their ability to maximize environmental benefits and contribute to local biodiversity. This reforestation project is carried out in partnership with the European project Life ClimatePositive. This forest is one of the pilot areas of the LIFE ClimatePositive project, which promotes partnership models among forest owners to encourage sustainable forest management and counter land abandonment.
The collaboration with Alì Supermercati
This new forest has been made possible through the combination of private funding from Alì Supermercati and co-funding from the Municipality of Quarto d’Altino and the European Union via the LIFE ClimatePositive project, and it will bring numerous important benefits to the community.
Alì’s long-standing commitment to concrete environmental responsibility initiatives was shown once again through the funding of 800 trees for the community. Indeed, the project aims to make the area greener and more welcoming, in response to the ongoing climate crisis.
