Updates from Enego

Tree planting in Enego, September 2023

May 2023 – Updates from Enego

On the occasion of the new tree planting event, we returned to Enego, where we monitored how the seedlings we planted in previous years are doing and which actions we will take to ensure the success of the project.

October 2022 – Updates from Enego

The species selected for the intervention in Enego, one of the areas hit hardest by Storm Vaia, were chosen for technical reasons linked to the forestry project. In this video we explain which tree species we have selected.

June 2022 – Updates from Enego

Many of you asked us how the new seedlings we planted are doing. In this video we explain how we monitor the intervention to make sure it succeeds, or to step in if necessary.

April 2020 – Updates from Enego

At Enego, the seedlings are growing healthy and strong in the nursery and are almost ready to be planted. There are still 2,000 trees looking for a “family”and they need your help to support natural regeneration, that is, the spontaneous replacement, in a forest, of adult trees by young seedlings. In these areas natural regeneration is fairly limited and not very varied (mainly beech seedlings), which is why our experts decided to support the seedlings that are already growing spontaneously by planting other species (besides beech there will be firs and larches).

The planting event open to the public, which we had initially planned for this spring, is currently difficult to confirm because of Coronavirus. In the meantime, the managers of the area have started the process to obtain the FSC® certification, which is the most effective and internationally recognised tool to ensure sustainable forest management.
