Did you know that plants have the unique ability of cleaning air of suspended particulate matter?
Yes, trees are good for you! Their leaves, indeed, act as a real natural filter: the tiny particles of pollution (the famous PM10 and PM2.5), transported by wind hit the leaves, which trap them on their surface.
Some trees can do it better than the others: their ability depends on many variables, but one of those is the roughness of the leaf. Next time you pass through the Rossi Forest in Limena, try to rub the leaves from the different species to guess which are the best at cleaning the air. But, to let you in on a little secret; all of them are rather good, that’s why we chose them!
