How much does digital pollute? The Carbon Thumbprint and digital emissions

Digital transformation has many advantages that also generate positive effects in the fight against climate change: working remotely, for example, reduces travel and thus CO₂ emissions. But the use of digital devices causes CO₂ emissions much more than we think; these "digital emissions" are called Digital Carbon Footprint or, in some cases, also Digital Carbon Thumbprint. The problem is that we are still not very aware of them.

Bosco Nico: the first food forest in the Veneto region

Bosco Nico is a project of reforestation of an agricultural area that has a twofold purpose: to increase the forest area of the eastern Veneto region and to provide a forest for the production of forest food such as fruit and wild berries. In other words: Bosco Nico is the first food forest in Veneto, a permanent forest open to the whole community that will provide edible species for humans and wildlife, 365 days a year.

Bark beetle: a pest is being fought in forests affected by Vaia

On the Dolomites and on the mountains of Trentino, Veneto and other regions of the Alps, this 2021 will be remembered as "the year of the bark beetle": we are in fact reaching the peak of the spread of this insect that takes sap away from the spruce trees. The alarm was sounded immediately after the Vaia storm that, in 2018, crashed trees to the extent of 70,000 soccer fields. This large-scale pest attack had already been widely announced.
